Identifying Satan's Assignments

"Lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices" - [ 2 Corinthians 2:11 ]. Every person born on this earth has a preordained path, which was conceived and written out at the foundations of the earth. The Bibles tells us in Psalm 139:16:
"Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed and in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them". (Please read Psalm 139 in the Amplified Bible for an excellent translation of this text.)

This path, which leads to success and the discovery of your true purpose for life, is uncovered and revealed when a person invites Jesus Christ into their life and is "born-again". This decision and act of making Jesus Christ Lord and following God’s ways begins the journey onto your individual path to success in every area of life.

Many people if not countless of millions of people today are unaware of this truth and live their lives directionless and without hope. Clutching onto all types of crutches to find satisfaction and fulfilment.

Achieving much but never truly finding any peace or contentment in their endless pursuit for something more in life. This is a directionless path that leads to death.

Satan is equally aware of our God given paths and is hell bent on destroying everything that God has created for us even our future. The most common way that he does this is by assignments!

In 2 Corinthians 2:11 the Bible instructs us not to be ignorant of Satan’s "devices", schemes, strategies, designs or "assignments".

An assignment is a prepared plan, design, project sent out to achieve a certain goal.

In this case it is the destruction of a persons future in God. The Bible say’s that Satan is a "thief" and a "murderer" and it is these two areas that he most often brings attack in. Stealing from people their God given inheritances and killing their lives through sickness, addictions and premature death.

Remember that Satan wants to hinder, obstruct and destroy you from fulfilling your perfect plan for your life.

Many people have suffered at the hands of Satan’s assignments through a continual problem that seems to come up all through their lives. It may be a problem with sickness, fear, lust, rejection, relational problems, addictions, gambling, etc these are all demonically inspired assignments sent to destroy you.

The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ Himself had an assignment of death upon Him or simply there was a contract out for his life. Mary whilst carrying the baby Jesus in her womb escaped stoning only because Joseph was prepared to cover-up her pregnancy. The assassin took the form of a demonically inspired ruler named Herod when he commanded that all of the children aged 2 years should be executed in search of the baby Jesus. At other times the religious community would seek to kill him. This was an assignment sent by Satan himself to destroy the Son of God.

One of the most common areas of attack is in the scaring of a person’s self-image. Self-esteem and self-image are linked together. We are made in the image of God and we were created beautifully. We are God’s jewel and work of art. We were created in God’s image and to think and act like God.

Our self-image in many ways is a result of our upbringing. Our parents had the most vital role, family, teachers, relationships, etc all helped to form our self-image. Many people who had great role models and upbringing have positive and confident self-esteem, but to many who have suffered abuse their self-image has been contaminated and poisoned by others.

A negative self-image or poor self-esteem will most often cause the person to be inward and negative. This can have monumental consequences for the individual trying to live a successful, rewarding and fulfilled life. In other ways a poor self-image will cause a person to endlessly look for attention and approval. Constantly trying to improve their self-image by outward appearances and improvements. Surrounding themselves with things that look or appear great even though inwardly there is a great emptiness and pain of a poor or wounded self-image.

Jesus Christ dealt with Satan's "devices" or "assignments"

Matthew 4:23-25 tells us that Jesus "Preached, Teached and Healed".

Preaching is calling attention to truth. Teaching is explaining truth. Healing is a demonstration of the power of truth.

You may know the facts about yourself or the image that you have of yourself but the truth is what God thinks and says about you. Your don’t have to accept and live with facts there is a higher law and that is TRUTH!.

Here are some steps that you can take to dealing with the assignment of a poor self-image.

  1. Who I am in Christ! 1 Peter 2:9

  2. Whose opinion counts the most? Psalm 139:14-16 (Amplified)

  3. Renew your self-image according to God’s image. 2 Corinthians 10:5, Romans 8:29

  4. Live as a Son or Daughter of the Lord. Galatians 4:7

Once you have revelation of the above 4 steps now it’s time to close the door to those assignments sent out against you. Ephesians 6:13-14 speaks about the "armour of God".

  1. Belt of TRUTH. (Character and Integrity)

  2. Breastplate of RIGHTEOUSNESS. (Knowing who you are in Christ)

  3. Shoes of PEACE. (Your walk in life with the peace of God)

  4. Shield of FAITH. (An attitude that overcomes)

  5. Helmet of SALVATION. (Confidence in you future and trust in God)

  6. Sword of GOD’S WORD (BIBLE) (Attack any challenge with truth)

Don’t let Satan rob you of your God given destiny for life. Discovering who you are and why you were created in this earth can only truly be embraced when you make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life.

God will begin to show you His perfect plan for your life. A beautiful plan and path that leads to life, and life in abundance. You will never look back.
