OUR DOCTRINE

The overall philosophy of the Awesome Church is based upon the teachings of Jesus Christ. We believe that the New Testament is a Covenant of Grace. God’s grace extended to all people as a consequence of the Cross and what Jesus accomplished on it. For this reason, Awesome Church celebrates God’s Grace revealed in His deep desire to Accept, Forgive, and Love anyone who enters the Christian faith.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is Life-Giving, Hope Giving, and Truth Giving. Our Style of presentation reflects this very nature and philosophy. Contemporary Full-Gospel Preaching of the ‘Good News’. Powerful Praise/Worship. Faith orientated Ministry in Prayer/Signs/Wonders/Miracles/Healings/Prophecy/Deliverance.

Our major is on the ‘Good News’ of Jesus Christ. Our vision is towards the great and precious promises that our Father in Heaven has given us and our destiny is in His gracious hands of Life and Life in Abundance. Our spirit is one of enthusiasm, Excitement and Zeal for accomplishing the Lord’s work in fulfilling His mandate.

Our desire is to love, nurture, care, and restore people to accomplish their God-given destiny in Jesus Christ. God is the dream maker, not the dream breaker!

Awesome Church is a Church based on sound Biblical Doctrine. The foundation of our Church is Jesus Christ and God’s Word contained in the Holy Bible provides us with all the necessary teaching, instructions and wisdom required.

The tenants of our faith are in accordance with the ACC Australian Christian Churches, ICFM International Convention  of Faith Ministries and the AGC Australian Gospel Churches.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God.

  • His Virgin birth (Matthew 1:23,  Luke 1:31,35).
  • His sinless life (Hebrews 7:26,  1 Peter 2:22).
  • His miracles (Acts 2:22, 10:38).
  • His substantial work on the cross (1 Corinthians 15:3, 2 Corinthians 5:21).
  • His bodily resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28:6, Luke 24:39,   1 Corinthians 15:4).
  • His exaltation to the right hand of God (Acts 1:9, 2:23, Philippians 2:9-11, Hebrews 1:3).

The Fall of Man

The man was created good and upright, for God said ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness’. However, a man by voluntary transgression fell thereby incurred not physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. (Genesis 1:26-27,2:17,3-6, Romans 5:12-19).

The Salvation of Man

Man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed Blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God.

Biblical Christians or Disciples of Jesus Christ are those who according to John 14:23, ‘If anyone loves Me, he will keep My Word, and My Father will love him and We will come and make Our home with him’.

Evidence of Christianity is by bearing fruit as Jesus commanded – John 15:1-8

  1. Fruit of SOULS – John 4:36, Romans 1:13
  2. Fruit of WORKS & DEEDS – Matthew 7:16
  3. Fruit of RIGHTEOUSNESS – Philippians 1:11Hebrews 12:11
  4. Fruit of the SPIRIT – Galatians 5:22-23

Baptism in Water

The ordinances of baptism by immersion is commanded in all the Scriptures. All who repent and believe in Christ as Saviour and Lord are to be baptised. Thus they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they have also been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. Water baptism is an outward expression of an inward reality. ( Matthew 28:19Mark 16:16Acts 10:45-48).

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit

All believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit and Fire, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was the normal experience of all in the early Christian Church, with it comes the enduement of the power for life and service, the bestowing of gifts and their uses in the work of the Ministry (Luke 24:49Acts 1:4, 8:11 Corinthians 12:1-31), this experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth (Acts 8:12-17, 10:44-46, 11:14-16, 15:7-9). We also believe that speaking in tongues is the initial sign or manifestation.

Divine Healing

Divine healing is an integral part of the Gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for the atonement and is the privilege of all believers. (Isaiah 53:4-5Matthew 8:16-17James 5:14-16). 1 Thessalonians 5:23 tells us that God desires that we are made whole in the 3 parts of the human being – spirit, soul & body. We also believe that many afflictions are caused by demon power that must be bound and cast out and off a person’s life for complete freedom. Acts 10:38

Tithe & Offerings

The scriptures clearly teach that the Local Church and adjoining ministries should be funded and supported by the Members through Tithes and Offerings. A Tithe represents 10% of earnings before tax which is brought to the House of the Lord on a weekly basis or according to payment. An offering is above a Tithe and represents a gift to bless those in ministry or fulfillment of God’s Vision for His Local Church. Malachi 3:8-15,  2 Corinthians 9:6-151 Chronicles 16:1-4Proverbs 3:9-10,   Proverbs 11:24-26,  Deuteronomy 14:22-29,  Genesis 14:18-24.

TITHING IS NOT A CONDITION OF MEMBERSHIP IN OUR CHURCH.
